2010 WESTERN CANADIAN MUSIC AWARD WINNER, JAZZ RECORDING OF THE YEAR
The Alvo Sessions was recorded in New York City with the support of the Canada Council for the Arts and Alberta Foundation for the Arts. Featuring Sandro's intricate grooves along with the East Indian inspired guitar playing of Rez Abbasi and the electric bass sounds of Chris Tarry. This power trio has been recognized as a force in the North American jazz scene. In 2010 this group has received the 2010 Western Canadian Music Award for Jazz Recording of the Year, toured the national jazz festival circuit, received reviews in Modern Drummer & Downbeat Magazine, as well as airplay and press in Europe and the UK.
